!ii!i  on the record 4 I Sioux County Index-Reporter June 3, 2015 Sheriff's Report Vehicle/Bicycle Accident On Thursday, May 21, at 2:10 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff's Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on 400th Street, two miles west of Hospers, Iowa. Kevin Sandbulte, 58, of Sioux Center, Iowa, was driving a Bianchi bicycle west on 400th Street. Justin Klynsma, 22, of Hospers was driving a 2005 GMC Sierra west on 400th Street behind Sandbulte. Klynsma became distracted by contents inside of his vehicle and struck Sandbulte as he passed the bicycle. Sandbulte was transported by Hospers Ambulance to Orange City Area Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The GMC sustained approximately $200 in damages. The Bianchi bicycle sustained an estimated $500 in dam- ages. The sheriff's office was assisted by Hospers Fire Depart- ment, Hospers Ambulance and Iowa State Patrol. Klynsma was cited for driving unreasonably close to a bicyclist. Arrest On Friday, May 23, at 6:06 p.m., the Sioux County Sher- iff's Office arrested Susan Putscher, 49, of Hospers, Iowa. The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop that occurred at the intersection of Hospers Drive South and Cedar Street in Hospers. Upon further investigation, the deputy determined that Pulscher's driver's license was suspended and sus- pected that she was under the influence of illegal drugs. Pulscher was arrested for driving while suspended, no SFI22 insurance, second offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (drugged), possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Accident On Sunday, May 24, at 12:13 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff's Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of 420th Street and Coolidge Avenue, seven miles northwest of Ireton, Iowa. Mariel Krier, 81, of Larchwood, Iowa, was driving a 2011 Ford Focus north on Coolidge Avenue. Dusty Schueder, 20, of Hartley, Iowa, was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix east on 420th Street. Krier drove into the intersection and was struck by Schueder. Krier was trapped in her vehicle and was freed by fire department personnel. She was transported by Ireton Ambulance to Hawarden Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The Ford sustained approximately $10,000 in damages. The Pontiac sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages. Schueder was cited for failing to yield from a stop sign. The sheriff's office was assisted by Ireton Fire Depart- ment, Ireton Ambulance, Hawarden Police Department and Sioux County Conservation. Drug Arrest On Sunday, May 24, at 10 p.m., the Sioux County Sher- iff's Office arrested Trey Beltman, 20, and Chance Wetter, 20, both of Orange City, Iowa. The arrests stemmed from a complaint received from a citizen reporting they witnessed a drug transaction that occurred in a business parking lot in Orange City. Deputies located Beltman and Wetter at Dutch Mart, 901 Albany Place S.E. in Orange City. Beltman and Wetter were arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to affix drug tax stamp. Additionally, Beltman was arrested for operat- ing a motor vehicle while intoxicated (drugged). The sheriff's office K9 and Orange City Police Depart- ment assisted in the investigation. Underage Drinking On Monday, May 25, at 1:45 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff's Office investigated a report of underage drinking at a residence on 430th Street, three miles north of Gran- ville, Iowa. Upon further investigation, it was found that three people under the age of 21 had been drinking alcohol. Tristan Verduin, 18, Caitlin Plathe, 18, and Jesse Plathe, 18, all of Alton, Iowa, were cited for underage possession of alcohol. Accident On Monday, May 25, at 3:30 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff's Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Garfield Avenue, two miles west of Sioux Cen- ter, Iowa. James Walling, 46, of Inwood, Iowa, was driving a 2013 Ford Focus south on Garfield Avenue. Austin Van Zee, 17, of RockValley, Iowa, was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix south on Garfield Avenue behind Walling. Walling slowed for a vehicle ahead of him that was turning onto a business driveway and Van Zee struck Walling. No injuries were reported. The Ford sustained approxi- mately $1,000 in damages. The Pontiac sustained an esti- mated $1,000 in damages.Van Zee was cited for following too close. Supplying Alcohol As a result of the investigation on Friday, May 22, at 8 a.m. the Sioux County Sheriff's Office arrested Michael De- Ruyter, 22, of Rock Valley, Iowa, for supplying alcohol to a person under the age of 21. The charge stemmed from a medical call for assistance on May 21 at a residence near Rock Valley. The investiga- tion revealed that DeRuyter provided alcohol to Taylor Hutchinson, which led to an apparent alcohol overdose. Accident On Wednesday, May 27, at 7:56 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff's Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway 75 and 310th Street, two miles northwest of Hull, Iowa. Emily Van Ginkel, 16, of Rock Valley, Iowa, was driving a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville east on 310th Street. Shirley Van Engen, 31, of Boyden, Iowa was driving a 2006 Mercury Montego north on Highway 75.Van Ginkel stopped for the stop sign at Highway 75 and then drove east into the inter- section and Van Engen struck Van Ginkel. Van Engen reported minor injuries and declined fur- ther medical attention. The Pontiac sustained approximately $800 in damages. The Mercury sustained an estimated $2,000 in damages. Accident On Wednesday, May 27, at 11:05 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff's Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of 410th Street and Grant Av- enue, one mile southwest of Sioux Center, Iowa. Bryce Moss, 21, of Hull, Iowa, was driving a 2006 Ford F150 west on 410th Street. Joel Scholten, 36, of Maurice, Iowa, was driving a 2008 Ford F2S0 south on Grant Avenue. The two met in the intersection and Moss struck Scholten. Scholten reported minor injuries and declined further medical attention. The 2006 Ford sustained approximately $6,000 in dam- ages. The 2008 Ford sustained an estimated $6,000 in damages. Moss was cited for failing to yield right-of-way. Arrest On Thursday, May 28, at 7:32 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff's Office investigated a report of a disturbance that occurred at 2769 410th Street, two miles west of Sioux Center, Iowa. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Jus- tin Etienne, 28, of Galveston, Texas, had assaulted a person during a disturbance by striking the victim's face. Etienne was arrested for assault. Vandalism On Saturday, May 30, at 7:27 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff's Office investigated a report of vandalism that oc- curred at Rolling Hills Country Club, one mile north of Hull, Iowa. Upon further investigation it was discovered that perpetrator(s) removed a golf cart from one of the build- ings and drove it recklessly on the golf course, damaging putting greens and flag poles. The vandalism likely occurred sometime between Fri- day, May 29 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 30, at 6 a.m. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the sheriff's office. Accident On Saturday, May 30, at 9:01 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff's Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 60, one mile south of Alton, Iowa. Brian Dailey, 39, of Le Mars, Iowa was driving a 2003 HarleyDavidson motorcycle south on Highway 60 when he lost control of the motorcycle. Dailey and a passenger, Heidi Ortmann, 26, of Le Mars were both transported to the Orange City Hospital by Al- ton Ambulance and Orange City Ambulance. The HarleyDavidson sustained approximately $4,000 in damages. The sheriff's office was assisted by Orange City Police Department, Alton Ambulance and Orange City Ambu- lance. Alcohol is believed to be a factor and the accident is remains under investigation. A $3,000 cash bond was paid and he was released May 24. Destin Ray Carroll, 20, of Sioux Center, Iowa, was ar- rested May 23 for criminal mischief in the second degree. A $5,000 cash bond was paid and he was released May 24. Naomi Dorothy Esther Lukes, 19, of Hawarden, Iowa, was arrested May 23 for possession of alcohol underage. A $300 unsecured bond was paid and she was released May 24. Cole Harrison Fitch, 24, of Hawarden, Iowa, was ar- rested May 23 for supplying alcohol to underage person. A $I,000 cash bond was paid and he was released May 24. Eduardo Luis Lugo Castrello, 35, of Worthington, Minn., was arrested May 24 for possession of a controlled sub- stance. A $2,000 cash bond was paid and he was released May 25. Anibal Bernabe Martin-Lopez, 18, of Sioux Center, was released May 25. Ana Isabel Valencia-Vazquez, 39, of Hull, Iowa, was arrested May 24 for OWl/drugged-first offense. A $1,000 cash bond was paid and she was released May 25. Jacob Chance Wetter, 20, of Orange City, Iowa, was arrested May 24 for delivery of marijuana, failure to have drug tax stamp and drug paraphernalia. A $10,000 bond has been set. Trey Michael Beltman, 20, of Orange City, Iowa, was arrested May 24 for delivery of marijuana, failure to have drug tax stamp, OWl/drugged-first offense and drug para- phernalia. A $10,000 bond has been set. Saul Flores, 20, of Hawarden, Iowa, was arrested May 25 for interference with official acts, assault on a peace of- ficer, assault with intent to cause injury and possession of alcohol underage. A $4,000 bond has been set. Miguel Angel Morales, 25, of Hawarden, Iowa, was ar- rested May 25 for assault causing serious bodily injury and criminal mischief in the second degree. A $10,000 bond has been set. Markies Tyrek Goodman, 19, of Orange City, Iowa, was arrested May 26 for three counts of theft in the fifth de- gree and one count trespassing. He was processed then released May 26. Randi Kay Faber, 32, of Granville, Iowa, was arrested May 26 for driving without a license and driving while li- cense suspended. No bond has been set. Juan Felipe Nunez-Juarez, 39, of Sioux City, Iowa, was paid and he was released May 27. Anthony Pawtic Surour, 19, of Anaheim, Calif., was ar- rested May 27 for three counts of theft in the fifth degree. He was released on personal recognizance May 27. Justin Julian Antoine Etienne, 28, of Galveston, Texas, was arrested May 28 for simple assault. No bond was set and he was released May 28. Dianne Joy Lagoo, 61, of Sheldon, Iowa, was arrested May 28 for failure to appear. A $500 cash bond has been set. James Clark III Rouseau, 30, of Jonesboro, Ga., was ar- rested May 30 for disorderly conduct. A $500 unsecured bond was paid and he was released May 31. Heriberto Armenta Robles, 18, of Hawarden, Iowa, was arrested May 31 for possession of marijuana and drug par- aphernalia. A $500 unsecured bond was paid and he was released May 31. Alberto Armenta, 21, of Hawarden, Iowa, was arrested May 31 for disorderly conduct. A $500 unsecured bond was paid and he was released May 31.
